Kim Greiner, Coordinator
- PER DIEM TRAINING -
Districts can request training on any one of 75 courses. Service also provides option of
custom-designed training on district-specific requests.
- TRAINING
WORKSHOPS -
Through the coordination of NERIC staff, districts participate in shared instructional
technology workshops designed specifically for teachers. Cooperative workshops are
developed for teachers from a variety of schools. Sessions focus on teachers sharing their
knowledge in technology and curriculum integration.
- ON-SITE TRAINING - Service
provided as part of all instructional networks put in place by NERIC. Districts can also
purchase this service independent of hardware purchases. In the first service year,
district receives five days of training for staff. In subsequent years, three days of
training are provided. A NERIC instructional coordinator works with the district to design
a plan for instructional technology training and appropriate staff development.
- DISTRICT INSTRUCTIONAL
COORDINATOR - NERIC provides a part or full-time person to be on site
addressing districts instructional technology needs. NERIC assists in hiring and
coordinating this effort between schools that wish to share and individual.
- CURRICULUM/TECHNOLOGY PLANNING
- Different levels of service are offered:
- Present Service Review
- All districts currently participating in any NERIC services receive this free of charge.
A coordinator reviews the current service environment and/or consults on any new
interests. Includes assistance in coordinating capital project efforts.
- District Technology Study
- Provides district with a comprehensive technology plan in three to five days. Covers
facilitation with such processes as initial survey needs assessment, goals alignment,
implementation and presentation. NERIC staff will work with the district committee to
develop plan.
- Technology Plus -
Designed for the district that has already created a plan and wishes to expand and
evaluate it. NERIC will facilitate the steps in this process.
- Curriculum/Technology
Planning - School Support Services and the NERIC have teamed up to provide
districts curriculum/technology integration workshops. District explores how technology
affects current curriculum and NYS Learning Standards. Districts work on a matrix that
provides solid ideas of the types of technology. This is based on a daily rate between the
two divisions.
- CENTRALIZED
TRAINING - Offers districts the opportunity to choose from a schedule of events
held in central locations. Option allows individual district staff needs to be met at a
reasonable cost.
