Q.: What is the GroupWise Electronic Mail Service?
A.: The GroupWise Electronic Mail Service is designed for school districts that would like
to manage a groupware type email system at their own district with assistance,
support and troubleshooting from the NERIC staff.
Q.: What is a groupware-type email system?
A.: In addition to regular electronic mail, a groupware-type email system offers
electronic calendars, task management, workflow and other things to assist in the flow of
information in your organization.
Q.: How can this service be purchased?
A.: The GroupWise Electronic mail support service is purchased on a yearly basis.
Q.: Will we have help setting up and configuring our electronic mail system?
A.: Yes. After your district purchases the GroupWise software, initial and ongoing advice
and assistance on the configuration of your email system will be available from NERIC
staff.
Q.: What hardware platforms are supported?
A.: GroupWise is currently offered on the Windows, Macintosh and UNIX platforms. It also
offers a method to reach your email from home or on the road via an Internet connection
called WebAccess.
Q.: What is an Electronic Mail Administrator?
A.: NERIC requires that you select a person from your district, called the Electronic Mail
Administrator, to see to the day-to-day tasks of running your email system.
Q.: Will our Electronic Mail Administrator be trained as part of the service?
A.: Yes. The training of an Email administrator and backup administrator on the means to
support a GroupWise Electronic Mail system is included as part of the service. User group
support meetings are also conducted to update that training and to act as a forum to share
ideas with other administrators.
Q.: Will you come on-site to help us if we have a problem?
A.: Telephone and on-site visits are available from our staff to help your Electronic Mail
Administrator troubleshoot problems as they arise.
Q.: How can I arrange for end-user training on the use of GroupWise for the staff at
our district?
A.: End-user training is not included as part of the GroupWise Electronic Mail service.
However, you may want to take advantage of the Office Integration Service to contract for
